International Friends

Recognition of the Museum's achievements has come thanks to the work of both its professional staff and the dedicated network of Friends of the Museum in Israel and abroad. Early on, when Tel Aviv was still a small city that had just sprung out of the sand dunes, its supporters were in need of a grand vision and a rich imagination in order to encourage donations of important art works from Europe and America. Over time, the Tel Aviv Museum has come to be internationally recognized for the high quality of its collections and its range of exhibitions.

Today, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art is most important cultural center, a dynamic tribute to all those friends who support Museum activities and help enhance its collections. These are the friends whose assistance enables the Museum to mount exciting international exhibitions, organize important shows of Israeli art, acquire new works of art and educate generations of Israeli youth to enjoy and experience all that it offers.

Over the last decade, the network of Friends of the Museum has continued to grow abroad; it has become the key source of fundraising for the Museum, and a major and unrivalled force in establishing the Museum's international reputation.
The extraordinary success of the Friends of the Museum abroad has allowed the
circle of the "Tel Aviv Museum of Art Family" to constantly keep growing.

The endless dedication and support of these groups of friends has lead to the ongoing organization of meetings and local and international events. These include gala dinners, public auctions, weekends devoted to art, visits to museums, galleries, artists' studios and private collections, as well as other special art events. It is thanks to the ongoing creative involvement and caring of its friends that the Museum can continue offering its visitors a rich and varied exhibition program accompanied by numerous educational and cultural activities, while preparing itself for the challenges of tomorrow.
