The Peggy Guggenheim Collection

The Peggy Guggenheim Collection includes 36 works by Abstract and Surrealist artists. Particularly prominent are those artists representing early American Abstraction (Jackson Pollock, William Baziotes, and Richard Pousette-Dart), alongside the European Geometric Abstract Art (Ben Nicholson, Friedrich Vordemberge-Gildewart), and Surrealism (Yves Tanguy, Roberto Matta, and Andre Masson). The Collection was donated to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art in the early 1950s, before Peggy Guggenheim acquired the Venetian palace in which she founded the Museum bearing her name.
