More than 300 guests attended the Gala evening and Benefit Auction held on 23 October at one of the most prestigious venues in Paris, the French Foreign Ministry; Quai d'Orsay. The Contemporary Art Prize 2008 was awarded to the prominent French architect Jean Nouvel and successful Israeli film-maker Amos Gitai. Works of art by Jean Nouvel and other artists were auctioned during the evening by Maître François Tajan from Artcurial. Renowned pianist Jean-François Zygel gave an innovative musical improvisation of Hatikva. Mrs. Jacqueline Frydman, President of the French Committee of Friends of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and the Committee also organized the Weekend of Art including a visit to the opening of the International Contemporary Art Fair (FIAC) in Paris, as well as to the latest Picasso exhibit. Other visits included a tour of the exhibition at the Passage de Retz as well as to private contemporary art collections in Paris.
