More than 250 guests attended the gala dinner and art auction of the American Friends of the
Tel Aviv Museum of Art (AFTAM) at the Capitale in Downtown New York. The event, called Celebrating Calder, was organized in cooperation with the Calder Foundation of New York. Dafna Schmerin served as gala chairperson, and the director of the Calder Foundation, Alexander S.C. Rower, was honorary chairman. AFTAM honored Drs. Marc and Livia Straus at the New York event with the Patrons of the Arts Award. Recognition was given to Tamar Rudich's for her many years of steadfast support and involvement on behalf of the Museum, by bestowing the Outstanding Service Award upon her.
