Official Opening of the Herta and Paul Amir Building

The Grand Opening Ceremony for the Herta and Paul Amir Building began with an exclusive preview cocktail in the presence of the President of the State of Israel, Mr. Shimon Peres, in the Museum Plaza. More than a thousand guests attended the Opening Ceremony, which was officially opened with speeches by President Peres, Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo, Ron Huldai, Israel’s Minister of Culture and Sport, Limor Livnat, and the Tel Aviv Museum of Art’s Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, Haim Samet. The speeches were punctuated by musical and theatrical performances, a heartfelt tribute to the Museum’s late Director and Chief Curator, Prof. Motti Omer, and a spectacular video mapping show projected on the Museum’s façade, specifically produced for the event.
